Fees

Insured Patients

Bloomsbury Anaesthesia accept insured patients from the majority of UK health insurers on a "fee assured" basis. Unless there is a policy excess or other limitation on your policy, you should not have to pay any additional fees. International policies are similar, although some with some insurers, we may ask you to pay directly & claim back from your own insurers with the provided invoice. If you have any concerns over your policy, please contact us.

Self Paying Patients

Self pay patients will be provided beforehand with a tailored quote for their anaesthetic based on the procedure code. They will receive an invoice, which should in most circumstances be settled prior to surgery.

Very occasionally, where additional surgeries or medical input (e.g in emergencies) are required on the day, additional fees may be payable. You will be given full details of this should it occur.

Package prices

Some hospitals offer a package price for certain surgeries, where the total operation cost is paid to the hospital. In these circumstances you will not have any additional responsibility for anaesthetic costs.

How to pay

If you are self paying, or paying your insurance shortfall, you will be sent an invoice 

with the bank details for Sim West Ltd (this is the business name of Bloomsbury Anaesthesia). Bank transfer is preferred, but if you wish to pay by credit or debit card, a secure payment link can be sent to you (this will incur a small additional fee, charged by the online payment provider, Stripe).
